Renewal PR card 5-Year Period

Sir/Madam:
I have the PR card and would like to renew it from within Canada. However, I have some concerns regarding the obligation to stay in Canada for 730 days within 5 years.
In 2012 I had to go to my country of origin for 23 days and I am wondering how these days of absence from Canada affect the 730-day requirement.

To which date does the immigration officer count the 730 days back when I apply for the renewal from within Canada?
Does he count back from the day of expiry?

Does he count back from the day of application for renewal?
Are other beginnings?

According to the CIC ENF 27 Permanent Resident Card Manual,

Applicants for PR cards are required to substantiate their residence in Canada by providing their residential history for the past five years, as well as the name and address of their employer(s) and/or school(s) attended. While the IMM 1000 is the primary document to demonstrate status, clients have the additional flexibility to submit alternative documentation, including a provincial driver’s licence or other provincial photo ID, student cards from provincially accredited colleges or universities, or the most recent Canada Revenue Agency tax assessment notice.
