Questions about OSAP

Hello,

I was wondering if i could ask a few questions regarding OSAP.

1. are you able to apply to osap if you are planning to move there from another province and attend school and live in Ontario?

I have a deceased parent and the other makes under 25,000 a year.

I am single with no dependents.

I will be 25 years old at the time my program starts.

Here is an excerpt,

You must also be a resident of Ontario. You must meet 1 of the following criteria to meet OSAP’s Ontario residency requirements:

• You have always resided in Ontario OR Ontario is the last province you resided in for 12 consecutive months without being a full-time post-secondary student; or- If you are married or in a common-law relationship, your residency can also be based on the amount of time your spouse or common-law partner has lived in Ontario. Your spouse must have lived in Ontario for at least 12 consecutive months up to the start of your current study period. Your spouse must not have been enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies during that 12-month period; or- If you are a “dependent student” for OSAP purposes, your residency can be based on the residency of your parent(s), step-parent, legal guardian(s), or official sponsor(s). Your parent(s), step-parent, legal guardian(s), or official sponsor(s) must have lived or maintained the family home in Ontario for at least 12 consecutive months up to the start of your current study period.

It also states,

If you have lived in another province, you must contact that province’s student assistance program.
