PRTD – Don’t Have Permanent Address in Canada

I am a Canadian PR and lived in Toronto from Aug 2001 to July 2006.

My husband & two children are Canadian Citizens.

I returned to India with kids in 2006; my husband stayed back in Canada for some more time and returned to India in 2009. From 2009 to till date we are all here in India.
We are planning to relocate to Canada in April 2019 and I need to apply for my PRTD.

I went through the Residency Obligation document; as I am living with my husband (Canadian citizen) for last 9 years, I can count those days as my days of stay in Canada.

Have a question on PRTD application :

There is a column asking for “Canadian Permanent address” in the application. We do not have an address in Canada as we are all here from 2009.

Please advise what to enter in this space.

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We can appreciate that you would be interested in this type of information.

According to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre representatives, you should include an N/A in that question and then attach a separate sheet of paper with an explanation as to why you do not have a “Canadian permanent address”.

The separate sheet should include information regarding which section you are referring to (Question 12A) and state that you would like to specify the reasons why there is no Canadian address available.

We have had some of our users previously state that they have been able to contact IRCC from abroad by dialing 1 613 944 4000. Listen to the options to get to IRCC. Then you should be transferred to the IRCC Call Centre.

Please note though we are not sure if this number continues to work this way.

You may want to give it a try.

Please be aware that long distance charges will apply.

My PR Card expired in March 2009.
As advised me to apply for PRTD now to return Canada. I got married and have one child 8 years, Now they can accompany with me to go Canada? Or else please advise me.

You will have to contact the nearest visa office for some information regarding what their options are in terms of entering Canada.

There is any Validity for PRTD document to enter in Canada?

I received my PRTD and is valid for 6 months. Processing time 10 working days. The process was fairly simple & fast.

Hi what are the cross questions asked when applied for prtd application

hi,
this is sravan
am a PR and lived in canada for quite some time
i moved india on 29march 2016.
since then i dint go back
i have an expired pr card and willing to apply for PRTD but am not meeting the 730 days stay limitations
i only have 685 days of stay in canada over the past 5years term.
the main reason for my stay in india is i had a kid who is 2 years old.
should i apply for prtd or not …
please help and thanks…
