PR - Can I Leave Canada for 1 Year?

Hi,

I received my permanent residency this year.

I want to travel for a year in Australia and am wondering if I can leave for a year and come back to live in canada with my PR intact?

I have lived in Vancouver for 3 years

  1. Yes, as long as you reside in Canada for 2 years in every 5 year period, you maintain your PR status.
