i don’t have any legal status in canada as of now, and i have never applied to immigration, however i just received a job offer, where my employer is based in Montreal, but he offered me a job in Toronto.
my interest is in Montreal, having family and friends there, and none in toronto, and being a francophone, where my daughter already goes to french school here.
according to the offer i got, they said they will sponsor and apply for me for a PR 6 months after i get there.
my Question is, after i get the PR, will i be able to freely apply to a job in Montreal and move there, without affecting my citizenship prospect or processing time?
also if i don’t move my family there with me, until after i get my PR and move to montreal, will i be able to get them to Montreal and apply for a PR for them there?
The short answer to your question is, if you are not landing under a Provincial Nominee Program you have full mobility rights within Canada as a Permanent Resident.
Since you are already in Canada, it may be best to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for some additional information specific to your situation.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
