Hello,
My name is Jayat and I’m from India. I applied for being a Canadian Permanent Resident under the Federal Skilled workers category last year in May and have been issued the visa just 2 weeks back.
I currently work for Expedia (Worlds largest online travel company) in India. After having got my visa, I negotiated with the management of my company to transfer me to our Montreal office, to which, they have agreed.
Now, my question is that - Can I make my first landing in Ottawa, ON and then travel to Montreal in a couple of weeks post landing?
or do I need to go through the procedure to obtain the CSQ in compliance with Quebec’s immigration laws?
I’m a little confused here and want to make sure that I have what I need to join our Montreal office in mid-April this year.
Thank you for sharing your situation and questions with us.
You mentioned that you applied through the Federal Skilled Worker Category.
As long as your Permanent Residence Status is not through a Provincial Nominee Program you should be able to work where ever you choose to, within Canada; so long as your PR status has not expired and you have a vaild Social Insurance Number (SIN).
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
My query is almost same as Jayat except the port of landing.
