I had sent my application for PR card renewal in April. They received it on 15 April 2015 and started processing on 06 July.
After waiting until end of September 2015, I called them and they told me it has gone for secondary review. The CIC representative said it went for secondary review in July and doesn’t have a time frame, saying it could take from few weeks to few months and maximum 1 year.
I haven’t even received an email or letter through mail saying that it went for secondary review.
My question is
How long should I wait for the secondary review to be completed?
Should I approach someone who works for settlement services and ask them to find about my case at this stage?
For my PR card renewal, I have completed way beyond than 730 days in last 5 years (almost 3 years), although first 2 years I was outside to complete my education. After completing far more than minimum days for renewal, why was the application sent for secondary review?
I would highly appreciate if someone who has the same experience as me to share their story on this.

Just wondering if you did get your PR card? And if so when. Thanks. My parents are in a similar position and I want to give them a realistic time frame as to when they will received their PR Card.
