Renewing PR card when already have multi-entry PRT

Hello. I’m a US citizen with Canadian permanent residency. Been living in Europe for the past nearly 8 years accompanying my Canadian (by birth) spouse. We are returning to Canada by May 2018.

My PR card expired in 2013. Last year, I was granted a multi-entry PRTD. My question is: when I apply to renew my PR card, is it enough to submit a copy of my PRTD as proof of fulfilling residency requirements, or should I send a mountain of documents as proof, like I did to apply for the PRTD?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance!
Vanessa
