I have moved to Canada after receiving approval to my PR. My husband is a resident and has OHIP, when will be eligible to apply for my OHIP, and what to do in case I needed medical care?

Another question, my son is a citizen, but has only moved here few weeks ago, is he eligible for OHIP? when can he apply for it?

Hello,

My daughter has recently graduated from UW and with that her University sponsored Medical coverage has ended. She has received her PGWP approval online but still awaiting the hardcopy of the same. She has started to work as an intern in May, but the employer does not provide any health insurance benefits, so my question is - can she buy health insurance on her own. Most providers such as SunLLife and ManuLife dont offer personal Health Insurance to people who are not covered under OHIP. I would truly appreciate any/all guidance on this subject.

We suggest that your daughter reaches out to a local settlement agency near her for assistance on finding programs she is eligible for.
