My fiance and I are getting married in October.

When do we need to obtain our marriage license?

How long does it take to get?

Also where do we obtain our license?

I am in Hamilton.

Regarding your first question,

Marriage licences are valid for use anywhere in Ontario for three months from the date of issue. Therefore, you must apply for your marriage licence within 3 months of the day you plan to get married.

Regarding your second question,

In general, you can get a marriage licence on the same day that you apply.

Regarding your third question,

You mentioned you are in Hamilton. You can contact the nearest Municipal Service Centre for information and to apply.
