I am a Permanent Resident of Canada and living in Ontario. My brother is working in New York, USA and he is leaving USA for good. He has 2012 model Nissan Sentra 2.0 SR which he wants to gift me.
As per RIV Canada, the model is admissible to Canada with couple of notes to be followed. Now my questions are as follows:
What is the right procedure to be followed to import this Car into Ontario Canada as a gift?
Since my brother will gift this car to me, is there any exemption in paying taxes ? And how much Taxes I have to pay If the original cost of the car was CAD20,000/-?
If I do not have Ontario driving license at the moment, can I keep that car?
