I am PR of Canada, living here for last 3 years, and applied for canadian citizenship, last week.

I am going to have my baby , in india, through a surrogate mother.

How can i bring my Child to Canada, Kindly let me know all steps and processes to follow.

According to the OP2 Processing Members of the Family Class states regarding Surrogation:

Section 5.14:

In Canadian Family Law, the spouse or common-law partner of the parent who gives birth to a child is presumed to be the other legal parent even if there is no genetic relationship to the child. If the child was born through a surrogacy arrangement, however, the child will legally be the child of the surrogate mother who gave birth until a subsequent adoption occurs that would create a legal parent/child relationship.

In these cases, documents suitable for establishing parent/child relationships are birth certificates or authorized evidence indicating that the person claiming to be the parent is the birth mother or the spouse or common-law partner of the birth mother at the time of birth. Evidence must also indicate that the parents availed themselves of assisted human reproductive technologies and that the child was subsequently born to the mother.

Once a legal parent/child relationship is created, general rules apply.

We suggest that you contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for some specific information regarding your situation.

We also strongly suggest that you contact the nearest lawyer who is familiar with Canadian immigration issues for some additional information and assistance with your situation.

My husband and I also had a problem to conceive a child long 5 years. We also did surrogacy but in Kiev. We chose Ukraine because it is absolutely legal there. And we have paid around 30.000 euros for everything. We hadn’t had some problems with documents because our clinic made all paperwork in the Embassy and we safely took our newborn son home. I think that legal part of the clinic is also an essential issue when you deal with surrogacy!
