Do Not Have PR card on Hand - Need to Return Back

Dear sir/madam,

I am in montreal and hve applied for pr card. I haven’t received yet. But the problem is I have some family circumstances for which I have to go back to my country for some time. Can I return back without pr card on hand? do I need visa for returning back? and I have my friend here in montreal in my address. Can she receive my pr card and mail back to me back to my country so that I can use later to come back to canada? does this me returing back without pr card do cause some issues for pr card?

I would really appreciate if you would kindly answer my querries. I am in a great tension.

In terms of your question about a friend receiving your PR card on your behalf and sending it to you, from the information we have received previously from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) , it is not illegal to send it via a secure method (courier or registered mail) or with someone else.

However, they stated that there exists the possibility that it may be seized if found.

You may want to try and contact the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre for some information specific to your situation.
