Do I need the Medical Surveillance for PR Card?

Dear Moderator.

We received our landing visa and i got my medical surveillance form as well. We will be landing in August and will be staying only for three weeks, is it possible to do the medical surveillance after 2 years? What should i need to do? Is this medical surveillance a requirement for me to have my PR card?
Your reply is highly appreciated.

Hello,
Though your message is quite old but I am in the same situation now. I got my landing visa today and a letter saying that I need go through the Medical surveillance code 2.02 .It also says the office will provide you with separate surveillance form to accompany your visa , not sure what this means? I haven’t got any form yet .

I had TB in the past but cured in 2012. Will I get the PR card? or will there be any delay in getting the same?

I may fly to canada in a month or two . should I get myself checked again just to be sure again? Please advise.
thanks

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

According to the information provided above by one of our researchers, medical surveillance is a follow-up procedure. So, if you otherwise meet the other conditions for residence, you should receive permanent resident status and a PR card will be mailed to you. You do not have to apply to receive a PR card.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

I have just got the CPR for my family and myself. I plan to do my landing in the month of June as I get leave from work only 2 weeks ( I will wrap up and leave for good only in a years time)

However on checking my CPR I realised there is a medical surveillance code 2.02 on it.

I did have to repeat my medicals ( since I have a patch on my lung since childhood) and all was clear. I am now worried if I will be able to complete all my formalities within the 2 week time span …in order to get my PR card.

Would appreciate if anyone of you could help throw some light on this.
