Data Analytics course Jan Intake 2026.

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for advice and guidance regarding college admission in Ontario as a domestic student (Canadian PR) with international education.

I am applying to the Data Analytics program (January 2026 intake) at Humber College, which I specifically chose because it is offered in distance/online mode. This is very important to me as I am currently managing postpartum health issues, which makes in-person study difficult.

I already have a WES credential evaluation completed for immigration purposes, which confirms the Canadian equivalency of my international Bachelor’s degree. However, I’m facing a problem because:

  • I cannot authorize or resend this WES report through the WES portal for Ontario Colleges, and

  • Upgrading it to an education-purpose WES evaluation would take several months, which means I would miss the January 2026 intake.

On the official Humber program page, the admission requirement states:

“Canadian citizens or permanent residents with international education are required to provide a credential evaluation.
For international post-secondary education, a WES evaluation must be provided.
In situations where you expect to apply for transfer credit, it is recommended that a course-by-course WES evaluation is completed.”

Based on this wording, my understanding was that:

  • A WES evaluation is required for international post-secondary education (which I already have), and

  • A course-by-course WES evaluation is only recommended, and only if transfer credit is requested, which I am not seeking.

There is no explicit mention that the WES must be completed for education purposes only, or that immigration-purpose WES evaluations are not acceptable. Because of this, I reasonably believed my existing WES report met the requirement.

I have already emailed the program coordinator requesting that my existing WES evaluation be considered, or that conditional/provisional consideration be granted. However, I’m worried that if this is not accepted, I may lose both my application fee and an entire academic year, which would be very difficult.

I would really appreciate help from this community on the following:

  1. Has anyone (as a domestic student) successfully used a WES evaluation done for immigration purposes to gain admission to an Ontario college?

  2. Are there other Ontario (or Canadian) colleges that offer data analytics or similar programs in online/distance mode starting January 2026, and that may accept an existing WES immigration evaluation?

  3. Any suggestions on how best to approach admissions in cases like this?

Thank you very much for your time and support. Any advice or shared experiences would mean a lot.
