COPR Lists Saskatoon - Must Land/Live there?

Dear Concerned,

Good Morning !

I got the confirmation of permanent residency (Federal visa through express entry) stamped on my passport a couple of days back. However, I have an inquiry that I mentioned the preferred city of residence as Saskatoon while filing my application as I had a cousin there. But now my relatives have shifted to Toronto. Please help me to understand that where I have to land initially so that there are no problems at the point of entry. Can I directly land in Toronto or do I have to go to Saskatchewan first…Please update me.

I would be highly obliged by your support.

Thank You !

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

Generally, as long as you have not been selected based on a provincial nominee program and you have not signed an agreement to settle in a particular province, according to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre , you should be okay to land anywhere.

You may want to review your application and any agreements that you have signed.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
