Thank you for sharing your question and situation with us, we appreciate your interest in this information. In co-op apartments, subsidized units determine rent by your income. You may find helpful information on the application process and support options available in the Settlement.Org Subsidized Housing section.

If you live in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)t may be helpful to contact the Housing Help Centre for support finding affordable housing. The Housing Help Centre will work with you one-on-one to determine your housing needs and find you affordable market-rate housing or subsidized housing. They can help you fill out applications for subsidized housing in the GTA or update any applications you have in progress.

If you live outside the GTA, it may be a good idea to contact 211Ontario directly for a referral to settlement agencies that can support with housing help in your area. Alternatively, if you’re comfortable sharing your city, we would be happy to suggest some local resources.
