Can we apply for citizenship with expired PR card?

My wife and I are lived long enough in Canada to apply for Citizenship and in the meantime our PR cards got expired last month, Question should we have active PR cards to apply for Citizenship in Canada?

No, a valid PR card is NOT required to apply for Citizenship.
