hello everyone, i am married to a canadian citizen living within canada and awaiting on my PR status. i have twins that are 7 years old but i am told they cannot enroll in school.
Can someone provide some more clarification on this: As it is still states that "immigration status is needed as part of the requirement.
It is important to know that all children aged 6-18 can and must attend school, regardless of their immigration status or the immigration status of their parents. This is outlined in the Education Act,
Should the administration deny enrollment you can ask to speak with the principal. If you are still being refused you can escalate your concerns starting with your School Board Trustee.
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any follow-up questions, please feel free to post them to the discussion forum here.
