Hello,

Does my parents’ financial situation have any bearing on the sponsorship application? As in their assets, savings, etc?

I know that my financial situation is mainly evaluated, but I was wondering if their resources can be supplementary.

No - their financial situation has no bearing on a PR sponsorship application. No - their resources will not be considered as supplementary to your income. You have to meet the income requirements on your own (your spouse/common law partner can co-sign).

Note that if you are planning to sponsor your parents in 2016 - the application cap was reached in a day and a half last year. If you haven’t already submitted your application - it’s too late for this year and you’ll have to wait until 2017.
