# Sponsoring My Spouse - ODSP

Hello everyone,

I had a post here last year but things are quite different for me now but in a good way! I am getting married in 7 days from now to my gorgeous British fiancee!

I am fairly sure that being on ODSP I am able to sponsor her after we are married but I want to just double check here.

It states,

So as you can see it states that you may not sponsor if you receive social assistance _for a reason other than disability_.

It may be helpful if you contact the [Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)](http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp)[](http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp)Call Centre directly to see if they can provide any additional information specific to your situation.
