# Returning to Canada without PR Card

I have applied urgent PR card renewal application due to family emergency back in December. Travel Document from back home takes 1-2 months to receive it so I’m planning to be back via US and using a rent a car coming back to Canada. Please let me know if anyone has this experience. I will be appreciated if you could give me any advice with this.

For updates related to your specific case it is best that you [contact IRCC using their web form](https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp). It may also be useful to note that processing time does not include the wait time before they receive the application, and starts once they receive a completed application. You may find it helpful to [check processing times using the calculator on the IRCC website](https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html).
