# Need to Leave Canada Urgently - PR Card

I need to leave Canada urgently to my country-India due to family reasons.

My application for Renewal for PR Card is taking time due to some verification.

my specific questions are:

1. Can I leave Canada without PR Card?

If yes, then

1. Can I return back to Canada after getting  
TRAVEL DOCUMENT FROM CANADIAN EMBASSY FROM  
INDIA?

Hello Rajendra,

As Klaus has mentioned, you may have to apply for a [Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD)](http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5529ETOC.asp) in order to return to Canada.

You may want to contact the [Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)](http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp) Call Centre directly to confirm this information and for additional information.
