i am a permanent resident in canada and i do not have my pr card nor have i applied for it yet. my daughter is 3 years old and she is a canadian citizen. i have to go back to my country in the next month and i was wondering how can i come back into the country? will i have trouble? i heard about the the permanent resident travel document back into canada and i wanted to know how much of a risk this would be and i would be traveling with my daughter.
Here is an excerpt:
“According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), no matter how you travel back to Canada, you must prove to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer that you have valid permanent resident status. This applies to all family members who are permanent residents, including children.”

It is good to plan ahead to meet your residency requirement. You may spend a total of up to 3 years outside of Canada during a 5-year period and still meet this requirement.
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to post them here.
I am Canadaian and married to my husband like two years ago. After we got married, I helped him get the permanent resident in Canada. But, after he replied he went back to India and work not even stay with, however, now he wants to divorce with me (after he got his PR). It actually really sad, I feel like he takes advantages of me by taking his permanent resident in Canada. And I saw the article saying that If you want to get divorce, “You need to prove that you and your spouse have been living in BC for at least a year.” Is it true?
Hi, I have an enquiry related with WES credential result. My result is mentioned below:
Bachelor of commerce:
Canadian equivalency : 3 years
bachelor degree
Master of commerce :
Canadian Equivalency: 4 years bachelor degree
Master of business administration:
Canadian equivalency: 4 years bachelor degree.
In the “educational terms used in WES evaluations” states that for a Master’s Degree, a post-baccalaureate degree in a specified field, awarded on the basis of completion of coursework (usually 1-3 years of study) and often a written thesis or project. Based on this, in my case, I have done Master of Business Administration (MBA - 2.5 years) and done a project under this course which is equivalent to 2 courses/course code: MS100 project work as per the Indira Gandhi National Open University mark list. So, kindly advice am I eligible for a masters degree and how can I approach wes for the same.
I’m new to this forum. I would like to clear my doubts on health care and to find a perfect doctor to treat it. I hope I’m in the right place and very happy to be a part of this forum.
There are more options listed in the article. In case you don’t have a health (OHIP) card, you might be eligible for services at a Community Health Centre (CHC). Some doctors accept patients who have private health insurance or who pay for services. Many settlement and community agencies can help you find health care. To find help in your area, use our Services Near Me tool.
You may also want to dial 211 on a phone to speak to an Information and Referral Specialist to see if they can refer you to the nearest community health clinic or a low-cost walk in clinic.
211 is a free service that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We are in the process of renewing the PR card for our underage children’s and wanted to know if in the question # 20 regarding to the work and educational history inside and outside of Canada in the past five years. do we have to include the time they have been going to school since they arrive in Canada or not.
Other question is will they need to submit fingerprints? we came here in January 2016. My understanding is not , but I would like to make sure.in order to avoid delays .
and third., given the fact that their PR cards are about to expire and we are planning to travel in summer and we meet as well the requirements for citizenship but knowing that citizenship application process is taking longer tan usual . Can we apply for both at the same time ?
Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out! We will be happy to answer your question.
In terms of education history, you will need to include all the time they have gone to school, either within or outside Canada, in the past five years. If they have been permanent residents for less than five years, you only need to include the time since they became permanent residents. More detailed instructions about the individual questions can be found online.
Your children most likely do not need to give their fingerprints for their PR card renewal. In general, PR card applications do not require fingerprints or other biometrics. The exception to this would be if they were under the age of 14 at the time of their PR application, are over 14 now, and the application was submitted after July 2018. Assuming from your question that the applications were submitted in January 2016, fingerprints would not be required. If you are unsure of your specific circumstances, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has an online tool that may help.
You are able to apply for citizenship at the same time as PR card renewal. Due to delays in the processing of citizenship applications, it is unlikely that the application would be processed before you travel in the summer. If you travel outside of Canada while your citizenship application is still in process, you will need a valid PR Card to return. After applying, you can submit the application for citizenship.
